We meet our 4 couples,#1 Diandra and Connor, #2 Maggie and Carson, #3 Dallas and Sincere, #4 Caroline and Sawyer--Each couple is dealing with issues that are tearing their marriage apart, from grief, to judgement, overly competitive natures, dishonesty, to insecurity and doubt. They embark on a social test called The Experiment and are promised a chance at healing their marriages but have no idea what to expect.
Out of the Frying Pan
Each couple meets their new spouse. Diandra is now with Dallas, Connor with Sincere, Maggie with Sawyer, and Caroline with Carson. Tension all around as each person brings a different level of openess, insecurity and vulnerability to the process. Diandra tries too hard and Dallas is withdrawn. Maggie doesn't beleive Sawyer has anything to offer and is insecure with how phyically perfect he is, Sawyer is young and carefree and sees Maggie as wallowing in her own self doubt. Caroline and Carson open up to each other but both quickly retreat when he compares her to his "real wife". Sincere has guilt about even being there whe she and Connor share a moment.
Let Your Hands Go
Now fully immersed into the experiment, the couples try to make the most of the process but the deeper they go the more their traditional values and the vows they took with their original spouses, conflict. Carson and Caroline clash over control in their relationship. Maggie can't shake her self pity and deflects her issues onto Sawyer. Diandra and Dallas let their guard down but guilt over their ability to be free together creeps in. Connor and Sincere and Connor clash over insecuritites relating to both their pasts.
Truth or Consequences
Things begin to heat up for the participants, as they realize they were paired with the person who can give them exactly what they need at this point in their lives, blurring their oriiginal matrimonial lines even further. After an emotional stability test within the experiment, Sincere and Connor get closer but her commitment to Dallas is a conflict for both of them. Caroline and Carson share a moment but how far will they actually go? Maggie and Sawyer find a common place but is their relationship based in reality or the bubble of the experiment? After a series of emotional stops and starts have Diandra and Dallas hit their stride?
Loves Me, Loves Me Not
It's the Final Day of the Experiment with the new spouses. Time for the participants to leave it all on the table before going back to their original spouses. Can Sincere lose herself enough to break her vow to Dallas? Will Dallas be able to keep his integrity if he gives into Diandra? Are Maggie's demons too much for her to be with Sawyer outside of the experiment? How do Carson and Caroline say goodbye after all they've been through?
Decisions
After having the ultimate experience with their experiment significant, the participants return home to an awkward reunion with their original spouses, and all must decide if they are going to stay together or not.
Should I Stay or Should I Go?
Dark pasts and twisted secrets come to light as each couple finally makes the choice whether to stay together or leave their original spouses.
It Ain't Over Til It's Over
After the dramatic reveal of their choices to stay or leave, the participants of The Experiment attempt to process the new lives they now face. But The Experiment isn't done with them just yet.
Unspoken Agendas
Each participant seriously considers their options when The Experiment offers them a 3-day reprieve, but they only have 24 hours to decide.
Once Upon a Time in Vegas
When The Experiment drops off the individuals taking advantage of the 3-day reprieve in an undisclosed location, they soon rediscover the reasons they fell in love and are forced to confront the ugly truths tearing them apart.
The Decision Remix
Grass is Greener
Having made their final decisions, the participants begin to move on with their lives only to be brought back into The Experiment by a common dark force that connects them all in a mysterious way.
